monsoon monologues - trois
She stood by the window watching the rain pour. She thought of the times when he would call her and they'd always start by talking about the weather. She would smile to herself.. like she ever cared about the weather! 'What would he have done without the weather' she thought to herself and smiled again.
He loved playing with her hair. He'd curl it up in all sorts of funny ways and then let them unfurl, or he'd make a mustache and beard out of them. At other times he would gently weave his fingers through her hair for hours, and then he'd tug at them gently, until she screamed.
With one finger on the windowsill, she traced a meaningless pattern with the drops of water. The rough wood against the ridges on her finger made her shudder. The rain was even heavier now, and as she closed her eyes, she thought for the first time what she would do if he didn't return.
