To break free

He wanted to go and chide the woman who had injected these values in him. He felt like a machine, unable to break free from the shackles of the rules he had been brought up by. With one swift, sharp rebuke, she had changed him forever. Every time he stretched away from the path he had been taught to walk on, his concience would pull him straight back like a rubberband. He wanted to ask her why: 'why had she restrained him so? why had she clipped his freedom for life?'. But the woman was not the same any more. She had changed into a differnt person; added eleven years, lines and wrinkles to her face, her heart was now sensitive and tender, easily perturbed by the slightest inkling of negativity. And he could not perturb her heart. For he loved her so dearly.

So he continued to wonder if he would ever be able to evolve out of the mould that formative years of parental instruction had set on him. He mulled on whether he would ever be able to express his pain to her. He felt scared and alone but he continued to move forward, slowly but surely, each step getting heavier, each breath lasting longer.

bs, below I'm pasting the translation you provided me. I'm sure you wont mind. Thanks for your effort !

Vellai Pookal (Transliteration)

Let the white flowers bloom everywhere
Let the tearing( meaning already broken , saddened) earth dawn for the peace
Let the yellow brightness( = sunlight) fall on the earth
Oh flowers! please do get up from ur sleep/shed away ur idleness
Let the baby awake in the warmth of its mother
Let the world wake up with the beautiful smile of the baby

the orchestra of the wind
the songs sung by rain
will they give pleasure as silence ( = harmony/peace )?

Will crores of keerthanas(songs)
and the lyrics written by poets
give the meaning equivalent to the one given by a drop of tear?

Oh moon won't u arise in the place where i show my hand
Oh white cuckoo won't u sing beautiful songs where the human clan has stopped the fight
