Aus. Pink Floyd DSoTM Tour

They call themselves the 'Australian Pink Floyd', but honestly these guys are as good as the real Pink Floyd themselves! Tonight, I attended the most mind-blowing concert ever, the Dark Side of the Moon tour of the Aus. Pink Floyd. Starting with DSoTM, the band rendered memorable numbers one after the other, flawlessly and in unmistakable Floyd style. I felt like I was attending Pulse! The stage was complete with the circular screen, bright sound controlled psychedelic lights and the three ladies giving backing vocals and swaying rhythmically to the floyd rhythm. Breath, Brain Damage, Eclipse, Time, Keep Talking, Sorrow, Wish you were here and The Wall, they did 'em all. The female vocals on 'The Great Gig in the Sky' just blew me away! All three guitarists took turns at lead vocals, but the bassist just took the cake, with Shine on you Crazy Diamond and Comfortably Numb.

The lead guitarist did full justice to his role as Gilmour with the solos and all the sliding. The accoustic tracks esp 'Wish You Were Here', were indistinguishable from the original Floyd tracks. Again, awesome guitaring. They ended with big bang with Numb in Pulse style with a huge rotating crystal ball lowered from the top. I bunked two classes to get to this concert and it was totally worth it :) What an amazing night !





The Aussie Floyd received the ultimate endorsement in 1996, becoming the only Floyd tribute band to be asked to perform for a member of Pink Floyd, namely David Gilmour's 50th birthday celebrations in London At DG's 50th birthday party. At DG's birthday, the APF were joined on stage by Richard Wright and Guy Pratt, for a rousing rendition of Comfortably Numb.
